There was a millionaire in the town known for his good nature. Three beggars approached him for help.
The first beggar went to the millionaire and asked for five rupees. The millionaire was surprised by the beggar's audacity and gave him two rupees instead.
The second beggar went to the millionaire and told him he hadn't had a proper meal in ten days. The millionaire gave him a ten-rupee note and told him he could use it to buy food for three days.
The third beggar approached the millionaire and praised his charitable nature. The millionaire offered the beggar food and asked how he could help. The beggar replied that he was merely grateful to have met such a noble person and did not need anything else. However, the millionaire was moved by the beggar's spirit and offered to build him a house in his compound and take care of him for the rest of his life.
God is like a good millionaire. Three types of people approach Him with different desires and prayers. The first is greedy and full of vanity, demanding worldly enjoyment. God may grant some of these desires, but they are temporary and soon pass away. The second type of devotee prays for relief from suffering and is willing to accept God's will. God grants this person relief and bestows wealth and property upon them. The third type of devotee praises God and has no specific desire. This person is highly pleasing to God and is granted supreme devotion. In addition, God allows this person to live in His own house forever.
